...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM CDT THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING...

 

* WHAT...Flash flooding and areal flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

 

* WHERE...Portions of west central Illinois, southeast Iowa, and northeast Missouri.

 

* WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through this evening.

 

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in localized flash flooding, flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

 

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- Rounds of thunderstorms producing heavy rain are expected today. Rainfall totals between 2-3 inches are likely, with isolated higher amounts possible.

 

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

 

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
