...Critical Fire Weather Conditions Today...

 

.Record warm temperatures in the 70s, windy conditions, and dry vegetation will lead to Critical fire weather conditions through the afternoon. Forecast GFDI values are in the extreme category which means if a fire were to start, it would spread rapidly and exhibit extreme behavior making containment very dangerous!

* TIMING...9 AM to 6 PM.

 

* WINDS...South 20 to 25 mph with gusts around 40 mph.

 

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 25 to 35 percent.

 

* IMPACTS...If grass fires were to start, they would spread rapidly and be very dangerous to try to contain. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
